William "Bill" Dean Lowrance, Jr.

July 26, 1950 — June 6, 2023

William Dean Lowrance, Jr., 72, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at his home in Eagar. He was born July 26, 1950 in Sacramento, California, the son of William Dean Lowrance and Francis Jewel Denham.

Bill liked fishing, camping and swing dancing to country music. He liked to play pool and looking for gold or unique special rocks. He loved SyFy on TV; the spookier, the better. He also liked to collect swords and knives and save them. A curio cabinet was purchased especially for displaying all his unique artifacts.

Bill served his country in the United States Marines from 1967-1970, serving in Vietnam. While serving in the Marines he worked as an electrician. Back home he worked on farms milking cows and worked in concrete. There was no job too hard or too easy. He put his all into all of them even holding and twirling a sign advertising new homes in 116 degree heat with a big smile and a wave.

Bill loved fried catfish, fried chicken and fixins and deviled eggs and could massacre a steak. He had a Boa named Monte. We went looking for a dog (he wanted an ugly dog) and we found Scruffy. Bill always said that ugly dogs were loyal. Scruffy was an ugly dog with no hair on his neck and his skin was red and sore. Bill called him our redneck dog. We didn’t think he could bark until a few weeks later he tried. It was a funny sound until he got good at it. Then Bill wanted a big dog so he got a black lab named Ebony, then came the small dog Gypsy, AKA Itty Bit and then came Charly who never left his side.

Bill is survived by his wife, Cindy Lowrance, son, William Dean Lowrance, III, daughter, Kristy Lynn Meyers, step-children, Stephany Hilbmann, Kady Harrington, Jeff Seeley, Sherry Beeler, brothers, Bob Lowrance, Don Lowrance, Ed Smith, sisters, Jamie Travis, Deana Lowrance, 6 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Lisa Lowrance.
