Vaughn Rae Tillman Newman

June 8, 1967 — September 23, 2023

It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our wife, mother, and grandmother, Vaughn Rae Newman, Saturday, September 23, 2023. She passed away in her home in Springerville, Arizona.

Vaughn was born in Flagstaff, Arizona on June 8, 1967 to Richard  Andrew Tillman and Bonnie Jean Evans. She was the youngest of 5 daughters and grew up on the Hart Ranch just outside Flagstaff. Her childhood was filled with family, church activities and playing on the ranch. She learned the values of integrity, faith, hard work and unconditional love which are values that she carried with her throughout her life and instilled in her own family.

In July 1994, Vaughn was introduced to Dale Newman who then proposed three weeks later. Dale knew that she was the one right away and it was an ongoing joke in their marriage that Vaughn made him wait another three weeks for an answer. Deep down, they both knew they were perfect for each other and were married on December 3, 1994 and went on to build a marriage that lasted 29 years. They brought together their four sons, Donald, Denver, Brent and Derrick and began their life together as a blended family on the 26 Bar Ranch. They worked on the 26 Bar Ranch from 1994-2005 where they added two daughters, Kylie and Brooklyn to their family.

As a wife and mother of 6 children, Vaughn was gentle, kind and selfless. She led by example and held steadfast to her faith in her Heavenly Father. She taught her children to always be forgiving and to have unconditional love for those around them. Having to be an extraordinary woman to be rancher’s wife, Vaughn gave all of herself to her family and the ranch without ever asking for anything in exchange. Regardless of all the struggles that a ranch life can bring, she loved it with her whole heart. In addition to caring for her family and the ranch, Vaughn also devoted her time to serving others in the church in various capacities.

After a lifetime of living on various ranches, Dale and Vaughn were finally able to purchase a home of their own back where it all started in Springerville and it was here that Vaughn found her final resting place. She will be greatly missed by her family, especially her husband, 6 children and 20 grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held, Monday, October 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagar Stake Center, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the services at the Eagar Cemetery.

“Well done my daughter, enter thou into the reward of thy righteous desires” NK ‘91
