Thora LaRue Cruce Earl

Thora LaRue Cruce Earl, 82, passed away, Sunday, July 30, 2023 in Springerville. She was born July 3, 1941, the daughter of Guy Mercer Cruce and Olga Thompson.

LaRue was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She taught Sunday School and Primary. She was very talented and was an accomplished seamstress, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and knitting and made so many people happy with her talents.

LaRue co-owned the Busy Needles shop in the 80’s where she along with her mom and sister displayed and sold beautiful doilies and quilts. She loved family trips such as her cruise to Jamaica and last year to New York and New Jersey with all her girls.

LaRue is survived by her husband, John Richard Earl, Springerville; sons, Steven Davis, Springerville; Dalton (Mary) Earl, Mesa; daughters, Debi (Leon) Hinton, Pima; Renia (John) Gola, Phoenix; Jonna (Mace) Slade, Queen Creek; Elora Luginbuhl, Phoenix; Crystal Earl, Chandler; 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Doyle B. Willess, Jr., sister, Marilyn DiAnn Hale and grandson, Kyle Sterling Davis Hinton.

A viewing will be held Friday, August 4, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Burnham Mortuary, Eagar. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 5, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Springerville building, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the services at the Eagar Cemetery.
