Susie Tafoya

Susie Tafoya, 90, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2021 in Phoenix. She was born December 14, 1930 in Reserve, daughter of Santiago Romero and Maria Romero.

Susie loved crafting, working in the garden and caring for her birds. She loved her dogs, Ladybug, Zoe and Boujje; who brought her comfort in the end. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends.

Susie is survived by her sons, Reyes (Karen) Tafoya, Robert Tafoya, Anthony (Melissa) Tafoya, Vidal (Traci) Tafoya, daughters, Violet (Rex) Williams, Betty (Gary) Hurst, Joann Tafoya, and Mary Lou Tafoya, granddaughter who cared for her, Michelle (Jim) Hammill, 27 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and 21 great, great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Mary Jane Tafoya and brothers, Tony Romero, Jim Romero and Domingo Romero.

A viewing will be held Monday, November 8, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Springerville, followed by Rosary at 12:30 p.m. at a funeral Mass at 1:00 p.m.
