Stanley Ballejos, 62, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2026 in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was born October 8, 1963 in St. Johns, Arizona, the son of Longinio Herrera Ballejos and Armira Chavez. Stanley was born and raised in St. Johns where he developed the strong values of faith, hard work and loyalty that guided him the rest of his life.

After graduating from high school he attended the police academy and went on to serve the state prison system for 20 years. Even after long shifts Stanley continued working a second job with Blue Hills handling port-a johns so he could provide the best life possible for his family. He often carried the weight of exhaustion, but did so quietly and faithfully because caring for his family was always worth it to him.

Stanley was the proud father of two sons and raised them with guidance, humor and a deep sense of responsibility. His love only grew as he became a grandfather and he showed that love through his presence, patience and constant care. Stanley had a rare gift with people. He truly never met a stranger. Everyone he encountered quickly became a friend; welcomed with his warmth, humor and genuine interest in others. His loyalty was also seen in the small but meaningful things in life, like being a lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan since childhood. Even though he never once visited Minnesota, he proudly stood by his team through every season.

Faith was the quiet foundation of Stanley’s life. He was deeply devoted to the Catholic Church and made sure to attend Mass in every community where he lived, including St. Johns, Eagar and Benson. Each night he read from his prayer book before bed; a simple but steady act that reflected his relationship with God. During times of illness and hospitalization, priests came to visit him; a testament to the faith that remained present in his life until the end. Stanley’s stubbornness, humor, loyalty, care for others and welcoming spirit reflected the heart of a faithful Catholic man. He lived a life of service, love and sacrifice and those who knew him remember a man whose strength was shown not just in how hard he worked, but in how deeply he loved.

Stanley is survived by his former spouse and friend, Faye Ballejos, sons, Robert (Jacqueline) Ballejos, Trevor Ballejos, grandson, Easton Ballejos, siblings, Ernest Ballejos, Virginia Klingaman, Dolores Chavez, Pat Ballejos, Frances Ballejos, Louie Ballejos, Sandra Westberg, Christina Ballejos, Martha Ballejos, Matthew Ballejos, Eloise Ballejos and Eric Ballejos.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond Ballejos and Anthony Ballejos.
