Robert Edward Lucero, Sr.

Robert Edward Lucero, Sr., 84, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2023 at his home in St. Johns, Arizona. He was born November 16, 1938 in Holbrook, Arizona, the son of Frank Lucero and Grace De los Angles.

Robert married Tommie, the love of his life in 1973. They were married for 36 years, blending their families with 6 children along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and a great, great grandchild.

He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. for a little over 10 years. During his service he earned several medals and awards including the Purple Heart. One of his favorite things to do was to go to El Camino and eat a big bowl of red chili beans. He loved to work in his yard, attend church on Sundays and watch his old school cowboy movies. Robert was always ready to help someone without hesitation.

Robert is survived by his sons, Robert (Belinda) Lucero, Jr., St. Johns; Efren (Barbara) Chavez, Tempe; daughters, Cyndee (Delbert) Holley, Bosque, New Mexico; Danessa Lerma, Phoenix; Melissa Lucero, Albuquerque, New Mexico; sisters, Dorothy Carillo, Victoria Lucero, 25 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tommie Lucero and brother, Chris Kelly.

A visitation will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. Johns, followed by Rosary at 10:00 a.m. and a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the services at the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery.
