Richard Lacy Greer

Richard Lacy Greer, 73, passed away, Thursday, April 6, 2023 in Springerville. He was born June 27, 1949 in Tucson, the son of Dick Lamar Greer and Winifred Lucille Lester.

Richard was a kind man who had a smile and a joke for everyone he knew. He was known by a few different nicknames over the years. Many called him “The Boog” or “Booga Red” and most recently was known as “President”.

He loved his family and loved his friends and lived his life to the fullest. Richard believed in making life fun every single day and never took things too seriously. His love of life was apparent everywhere he went. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his spouse, Jerrie Merrill Greer, Eagar; children, Lance Greer, Eagar; Melissa Greer Madariaga, Eagar; Jonathan Greer, Redding, California; Lacy Greer, Eagar; Bethany Greer McKenna, Eagar; Jordan Greer, Eagar; brother, Robert Lester Greer, Gilbert; sister, Toni Nelson, Mesa; 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jonathan David Greer and second wife, Linda Hedge-Smith.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Round Valley High School Auditorium.
