Ray Anthony Barraza

Ray Anthony Barraza, 51, passed away, Monday, June 23, 2025 at his home in Springerville, Arizona. He was born June 27, 1973 in Springerville, the son of Joe G. Barraza and Julia A. Moya.

Ray was my husband, my best friend and the kind of dad every little girl deserves.While our hearts are heavy, we’re also full of love for the man he was.

If you knew Ray, you knew a few things for sure. He always had to smell good, he always needed a sweet treat nearby and he could turn even the most boring trip to the store into an adventure. He had this amazing way of making everyday life feel fun, just by being himself. Ray worked for the Town of Springerville as a Water Treatment Operator.

Ray gave the best hugs; those strong, comforting kind that made everything feel okay, even when it wasn’t, and the jokes? Constant. corny, clever or just plain goofy; he had us laughing all the time.He was a patient, present and loving girl dad. He would never miss a soccer game or a track meet for our Jella. He was always there, cheering her on with so much pride and when it came to Ali, he sat patiently while she drew all over him with markers, painted his nails or did his hair. No complaints, no ego, just pure, quiet love.

Ray made life sweeter. He was gentle and kind, with a heart so big it filled every room he walked into. We’ll miss him more than words can say, but we’re also so grateful we got to love him and be loved by him.

Ray is survived by his spouse, Adrianna Barraza, Springerville; daughters, Angelica Marquez, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Alixandria Barraza, Springerville; parents, Joe and Julia Barraza and siblings, Gilbert Barraza and Glorinda Collins.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Barraza and grandmother, Irene Moya.

A viewing will be held Monday, June 30, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Springerville, followed by Rosary at 10:00 a.m. and a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the services at the Springerville Cemetery.
