Ramon Vernon Arave

Ramon Vernon Arave, 91, passed away, Tuesday, January 2, 2024 in Eagar, Arizona. He was born July 12, 1932 in Taylor, Idaho, the son of Orland Jay & Grace Polson Arave.

Ramon was raised as an Idaho farm boy who loved motorcycles, teaching, dancing, singing and building. He could jerry-rig anything and make it work. He was a school teacher for 32 years, retiring in 1994. Ramon served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955 during the Korean War as an electrician; which helped him build his own homes. He was a ballroom dancer and singer performing for BYU and was a man of faith who loved to share his testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ with everyone he came in contact with. He served 3 missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2 of them with his wife, Rhoda. He loved his posterity and was very proud of each one of them. We hope you are dancing in Heaven, Dad!

Ramon is survived by his sons, Robert Ray Arave, Eagar; Dustin Ladd Arave, St. Johns; daughters, MaryAnna Frazier, North Ogden, Utah; Paula Sue Flake, Mesa; Laurie Ruth Ringger, Rigby, Idaho; Julie Rae Olsen, Mesa; sisters, Marilyn Potter, Carol Maurine Williams, Deanna Shields, 29 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rhoda, son, Benny Jay and daughters, Carla June and Emily Joan.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Amity building, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the services at the Eagar Cemetery.
