Paul Anthony Rietz, 66, passed away Friday, July 10, 2026 in Alpine, Arizona. He was born on May 12, 1960 in Morenci, Arizona to Dario Rietz and Mary Evelyn Barrett Rietz. 

Paul dedicated his life to his family, friends and community. A hardworking, compassionate and resilient man; he was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. He had a deep love for his many dogs over the years; each of whom held a special place in his heart. As a business owner, Paul made a lasting impact in Alpine and earned the respect and admiration of those who knew him. 

Paul is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sherrie Rietz, his brothers, Dario Jr. (Linda Collins) Rietz, Alan Rietz, Mark (Andrea) Rietz and his nieces and nephews. 

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all whose lives he touched. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alpine Fire District in Paul’s memory. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved him.

A gathering to honor Paul’s life will be announced at a later date.
