Obituary

Young at heart and skilled in motherhood, friendship, service and love, Neysia Yevonne Naegle Stradling, passed away peacefully, Sunday, October 11, 2026.

Neysia’s greatest accomplishment was her children; all accomplished and successful in their own right, due to her. The outpouring of love and expressions of sweet memories from so many is a testimony to her acts of love, friendship and service. She was also a great example of faith, belief and endurance in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Neysia was a skilled seamstress who made wedding dresses for her three daughters and crocheted baby blankets for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed embroidery, gardening, genealogy, arts and crafts, reading, putting together puzzles and doing word searches.

She was born in St. Johns, Arizona November 27, 1934 to LeRoy Carl Naegle and Bernice Overson.

Neysia is survived by her children, Patricia Ackerson, Sheryl Whipple, Reed Dee (Cheryl) Stradling, SueAn Collins, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Lynnette (Orin) Carroll, brother, LeRoy Naegle and sisters-in-law, Gail Naegle and Marsha Sowder.

She was preceded in death by her son-in-laws, Les Ackerson, Danny Rodriguez, Val Whipple, Chuck Collins, sister-in-law, Judy Naegle, sister, LuWanna Paxman, brother-in-law, Mark Paxman and brother, Johnny Naegle.

Her smile, kindness and caring personality will be sorely missed by many but we know she’ll be watching and cheering us on from above.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, downtown chapel, St. Johns, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the services at the St. Johns Westside Cemetery.
