Moises Manuel Tafoya

Moises Manuel “Mo” Tafoya, 84, passed away, Sunday, October 19, 2025 in Show Low, Arizona. He was born March 3, 1941 in St. Johns, Arizona, the son of Romolo Chavez Tafoya and Maria De Atocha Pena.

Moises worked in construction. He loved to ride horses and go on his yearly rides with his comrades.

Moises is survived by his loving wife, Emilia Tafoya, St. Johns; daughters, Christina (Robert) Hext, Globe; Melissa (David) Butler, Mesa; Francesca (Brandon) Martin, Show Low; brother, Edmundo Tafoya, sister, Helen Pineda, 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his son, Fernando Tafoya, daughter, Valerie Ann Tafoya, parents, grandchild, Taylir Martin, 3 brothers and 1 sister.

A special thank you to all who prayed for Moises and his family and to the ICU team who gave such excellent care.

Rosary will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. Johns, followed by a funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow the services at the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery.
