Michael Bruccheri, Jr.

Michael "Mike" Bruccheri, Jr., 73, passed away Friday, June 3, 2022 in Eagar, Arizona.

Michael was born in Palermo, Sicily, Italy on October 24, 1948, the son of Michael Bruccheri, Sr. and Augustina Dejoia along with his brothers, John Bruccheri and Guy Bruccheri. The family immigrated to the United States, coming through Ellis Island. All were registered having been born in Hystoria, New York at the Hystoria Hospital, eventually settling in Long Beach, California.

In 1967 Michael joined the Army and served his country from 1969-1973. He was a combat soldier in Vietnam where he lost almost all of his comrades in the war. He received numerous medals for service, valor and ribbons along with the prestigious medal, the Purple Heart for his service and being injured.

What Michael treasured the most came in 1968 and 1970; the births of his sons, Anthony “Tony” and Vincent “Vinnie”.

In 2007 Mike married Connie and they settled in Eagar, Arizona. He had a Bachelor’s degree in business and retired in May of 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Connie A. Bruccheri and sons, Anthony (Lisa) Bruccheri, Cottonwood, California; and Vincent Bruccheri, Redding, California, granddaughter, Amanda Bruccheri, step-daughter, Deidre, 2 step-grandchildren, 3 step great-grandchildren and brother, John Bruccheri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Guy Bruccheri and his grandparents.

Rosary will be held Thursday, June 23, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Springerville, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held Friday, June 24, 2022 at 1:30 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85024.
