Melinda Sue Burnett was born September 1, 1965 in Safford, to her parents Marilyn Rake and Earl Burnett. Her soul left her body Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 7:40 a.m. in Show Low, after a hard fight with Covid pneumonia. In the 56 years of Melinda's life, one thing has been a constant for her; love of family.
Melinda had 6 children: Jaycob Paul Lambson, Kyra Maxine Lambson, Garrett Earl (Sara) Lambson, Jaelyn Nicole (Jesse) Smith, Kellen Dempsey Lambson and Cade Michael (Misty) Lambson.
After tragically losing her oldest daughter Kyra, she moved back to St. Johns to be closer to Kyra's 5 children, where she has been residing for the last 4 years.
She leaves behind 17 grandbabies; that she adored like her own and her adopted family: Karen Vaughn, many others and countless friends.
Melinda grew up with 4 siblings: Lurlynn Potter, Carolynn Zoll, Tami Burnett and Michael Vaughn. She tragically lost her brother Ben 13 years ago. She was a light in the darkness.
Melinda was a singer, songwriter and author, but most importantly a friend to everyone. The world is a lot less bright without her light.
Melinda's memorial service will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, St. Johns Stake Center. Please come and celebrate the sun that was our Melinda, Gramala and Momma.
