Maryhelen "Sug" Butler Peters

Maryhelen “Sug” Butler Peters, 78, passed away peacefully at her Southfork home with her family at her side, Friday, December 22, 2023. She was born February 22, 1945 in Springerville, Arizona, the daughter of Vinson T. Butler and Helen Mabel Wingfield.

“Sug” was a life-long resident of Southfork. She loved ranching, agriculture, hunting, fishing and anything related to being outside. She was a Kindergarten teacher for Round Valley School District for 25 years, retiring in 1997.

“Sug” is survived by her husband of 51 years, Bobby Peters, daughters, Kym Johnson, Blue; Mosty Donoghue, Pinetop; Kori (Steve) Cota, Eagar; Bobbie Gonzalez, Eagar; sisters, Sylvia Baker, Wink Crigler and grandchildren, Nick Donaghue, John Stokes, Braden Brown, Mollie Gonzalez and Vince Picozzi.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. She will be missed by many.
