Mark Edwin Moss, 84, passed away peacefully with his family around him, Saturday, October 11, 2025 in Eagar, Arizona. He was born in Kirkland, Washington, April 22, 1941 the first son of Marcus Edwin Moss and Laurel Marybeth Denny.
Mark graduated from Lake Washington High School in 1959. Later that year he married Donell Sell and together they had 2 beautiful children, Pam and Greg. In 1973 he married Janis Kanten, his soul mate for the next 52 years.
After driving truck for Lowell Deyoung company in Woodinville, Washington for 15 years they moved to Eagle Bend, Minnesota where they had a dairy and beef farm and also crop farmed for 40 years. In addition Mark was a licensed Montana Outfitter for 30 years leading hunters and fishermen in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. They moved to Reserve, New Mexico in 2016.
Mark remained active in retirement, riding horses, hunting and traveling. He was a WWII buff, and was able to travel to France in 2024 for the 80th anniversary of D-Day! Mark will be missed by his loving family and the many friends he made throughout his life.
Mark is survived by his wife, Janis Kanten Moss, Reserve, New Mexico; children, Pam Heppner, Granite Falls, Washington; Greg Moss, Arlington, Washington; brother, Gerry (Linda) Moss, Reserve, New Mexico; brother-in-law, Bruce (Dori) Kanten, Powell Butte, Oregon; and grandchildren, Kayla Heppner, Tyler (Lacey) Heppner, Jordan Heppner and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Laurel Moss, parents-in-law, Bob and Geri Kanten and sisters-in-law, Pattie Troy and Barbara Kanten.
