Marilyn DiAnn Cruce Hale

Marilyn DiAnn Cruce Hale, 82, left this world to be with her Heavenly Father, Saturday, May 20, 2023 in Phoenix, surrounded by her family. She was born July 15, 1940 to Guy Mercer Cruce and Olga Thompson.

DiAnn lived and attended school in Springerville. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony and love for her Heavenly Father. She served in multiple callings in the church including Relief Society where she and her sister, LaRue taught other members how to crochet.

DiAnn married Clifford Hale September 16, 1955 and was sealed in the Mesa Arizona Temple December 9, 1966. They had 37 years together before he passed into heaven May 22, 1992.

She was blessed with 10 beautiful children, LaRee (Crest) Merrill, Sheldon Hale, Audie Hale, LaNita (Bob) Koontz, Marilyn (Danny) Coppedge, Doyle (Lisa) Hale, Tonia Goelz, Clifford (Mandy) Hale, Daryl (Jennifer) Hale, Ina (Milo) Brown, 35 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren, sister, LaRue, brother, Doyle and many nieces and nephews. She loved her family will be deeply missed by all.

DiAnn was a homemaker; she always had a quilt in the works and had a lot of friends who would stop by to visit and end up visiting and quilting for hours. She liked fishing and camping and had the most beautiful flower garden and yard, but her true passion was crocheting. There’s probably very few people who knew her that don’t have a piece of her beautiful work.

DiAnn touched many hearts with her beautiful spirit. She was always helpful to whoever needed it. She was kind and loving, her door was always open and she always made people feel like family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, sons, Sheldon and Audie, parents and brother, Doyle.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Springerville building, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the services at the Eagar Cemetery.
