LaVada Fitch, 97, passed away Monday, September 28, 2026 in Eagar, Arizona. She was born September 25, 1929 in Jewett, Texas, the daughter of John Carlton Dyess and Bessie Addie Dickey.

LaVada was a nurse at Casa Grande Regional Hospital & Home Health, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed nursing for many years. She loved her family. She moved to Eagar in 2011 and remained there until her death.

LaVada is survived by her sons, Gregg (Carie) Walker, Las Vegas, Nevada; Henry (Debi) Walker, Eagar; 17 grandchildren and 47 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Alton Walker, San Diego, California; Chris Walker, Mesa; daughter-in-law, Carol Walker, San Diego, California; daughter, Laura Smith, Eagar; parents, John and Bessie Dyess, brothers, John C. Dyess, Ciecel Dyess, sister-in-law, Vera Dyess and sister, Lucille Lea.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 10:30 a.m. at First Southern Baptist Church, Springerville, with visitation one hour prior. A funeral service will also be held Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the J. Warren Funeral Services Mountain View Chapel & Cemetery, 15506 W Skyway Ave. Casa Grande, Arizona 85193, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the services at the Mountain View Cemetery.
