Johnny Clyde Naegle

January 18, 1949 — September 28, 2025

St. Johns

Johnny Clyde Naegle, 76, passed away, Sunday, September 28, 2025 at his home in St. Johns, Arizona. He was born January 18, 1949 in St. Johns, the son of Leroy Carl Naegle and Bernice Overson.

John Naegle; Big John, Johnny, Cowboy, Coach, Pops, Grampy, Dad, he answered to so many names because he meant so many things to all of us.

His hands were as big as frying pans, his shoulders wide enough to span two hangers and his strength seemed endless, but even more powerful than his strength was his ability to love and his love for his family was beyond measure. He never met a stranger and once he met you, you became family.

In his words...“I seen ya sittin’ there and I knew, I knew ya!” We’ll miss hearing your voice telling us: “Come here and I’ll pick you up,” when we stumbled or “It’s a long way from your heart,” when we were hurt or “We’re burnin’ daylight,” when we weren’t moving as quickly as we should or “I love you and I’m so proud of you,” even when we didn’t know we needed to hear it.

Your legacy and love will live on in everything we do.

Ride on, Big John. Ride on.
