John Francis McConnell, III

John Francis McConnell, III, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2025 at his home in St. Johns, Arizona. He was born February 27, 1953 in Syracuse, New York, the son of John Francis McConnell, Jr. and Audrey Jeanne Bain.

John was a true outdoorsman who loved fishing, camping and looking for treasures. He was an artist who spent most of his years painting cars and trailers. After he retired he painted multiple pictures. He also loved to garden and play in the dirt. He learned to bead jewelry and make little dishes out of clay. He was a very talented man who wasn’t afraid to learn and had fun doing it too.

John had a fun, loving spirit about him with a big heart. He will be missed by everyone who knew him, especially his wife, Denise; “Hooked to the hip ‘til the wheels fall off. I love you honey to the moon and back! Always your gal, Denise.”

John is survived by his wife, Denise McConnell, St. Johns; step-children, Bridget Vaughn, Lake Villa, Illinois; Ryan Vaughn, Decorah, Iowa, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
