Joe G. Barraza, 79, passed peacefully in his home after years-long battle with prostate cancer.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Julia Barraza, his children, Gilbert Barraza and Glorinda Collins, 10 grandchildren and his brother, Genaro Barraza.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 11 siblings and his sons, Ray Barraza and Ricki Barraza.

His friends and family remember him as hilarious, hard-working and kind.

Rosary will be held Friday, August 7, 2026 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a memorial Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Springerville. Inurnment will follow the services at the Springerville Cemetery.
