Jason Merv
Hall
Dec 8, 1979 — Sep 20, 2026
Cincinnati
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jason Merv Hall, who passed away Sunday, September 20, 2026 in Maineville, Ohio. Jason was born in Ogden, Utah December 8, 1979, the son of Marvin Scott Hall and Kim Cecile South Hall.
Jason grew up in Eagar, Arizona alongside his four siblings, Heather, Justin, Heidi and Hilary. He had a wonderful childhood spending his early years among close friends and family. His days were filled with crawdad fishing, backyard games, rope-swinging and helping his dad at the ranch.
Jason attended Round Valley High School and graduated near the top of his class. He enjoyed high school athletics; particularly football and wrestling. In addition he sang in the show choir and learned to play the piano. He continued to sing in choirs throughout his adult life. Most importantly he made many lifelong friends during his teen years.
Shortly after he graduated in 1998, Jason served a mission in Brasília, Brazil for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He spoke frequently of his mission as being some of the most difficult times of his life but also as some of the most meaningful and memorable.
After his mission Jason attended Brigham Young University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in biology. On August 3, 2001 he married Jennifer Cluff, his high school sweetheart. They had three sons together, Tallin, Colton and Sawyer, who were the pride and joy of his life. He was a loving father who enjoyed everything he did with his sons. Some of his favorite things were watching movies and playing golf with them. He did his best to make every one of his son’s games. He even started filming games for the high school football team in 2020 so that he could watch his son play when all fans were banned due to COVID restrictions.
Jason worked in a variety of industries and lived in several different places over the course of his life. He poured concrete, wrangled cows, managed call centers, coached kids and for several years ran his own business. Most recently Jason worked in Ohio as a safety officer. He was known as extraordinarily kind, accepting and hard-working; he made friends wherever he went.
Jason is survived by his three sons, Tallin Hall, Colton Hall and Sawyer Hall, Strasburg, Colorado, his close friend and former wife, Jennifer, his parents, Scott and Kim Hall, Eagar, his siblings, Heather (Sam) Blackham, Gilbert; Justin (Sherrie) Hall, Eagle Mountain, Utah; Heidi (Jacob) Boddeker, Spokane, Washington; Hilary (Jordan) Sheets, Lehi, Utah and 14 nieces and nephews.
He is deeply missed by his family and friends. His legacy of kindness and acceptance will be a lesson we all strive to emulate in honor of “Master Jason”.
He was preceded in death by his niece, Afton Blackham, grandparents, Burton and Evelyn South, Merv and Peggy Hall, cousins, Brooke Hamblin and Brandy Hale and uncles, Clay South and Sam Udall
