Innis Fawn Boren Brown

July 27, 1927 — November 25, 2021

Innis Fawn Boren Brown, 94, of Eagar, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 25, 2021 in Springerville. She was born July 27, 1927 in Provo, Utah, the daughter of Eldwin Boren and Murran Elizabeth Lockhart.

Innis attended Brigham Young University where she met her husband of 57 years, Grant Brown. She moved to Eagar in 1957 when Grant accepted a teaching position at Round Valley High School. She was a mother of 8 children, 35 grandchildren, 99 great grandchildren and 1 and a half great, great grandchildren.

Innis was a homemaker in which she took great pride in performing her duties with efficiency and grace. It was obvious to many that she cooked, cleaned, sewed and managed her large famiy with legendary precision. Her children feel blessed to have had the example of a mother and grandmother who valued raising a family.

Outside the home, Innis served in a variety of positions. She was active in the PTA when her children attended schools in the Round Valley area. Innis loved her years working with the White Mountain Hospital Auxiliary and was always willing to give hours of time to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she worked in Relief Society, Primary and the youth programs of the church. She also served as a temple worker in both the Mesa and Snowflake temples. Along with her husband, Grant, she served two full-time missions to Kentucky and England. She had a testimony of our Savior, Jesus Christ and lived her life in quiet Christ-like service.

Innis is survived by her sons, Danny (Fonda) Brown, Eagar; James (Rayanne) Brown, Eagar; David (RuthAnn) Brown, Eagar; Lenn (Leisha) Brown, Mesa; daughters, Nanette (Wade) Finch, Eagar; Shelly Brown, Chandler; Shannon (Gordon) Bueler, Chandler; daughter-in-law, Kelli Brown, Eagar; and sister, Jennette Allman, St. George, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldwin and Murran Brown, husband, Grant Brown, son, Steven Brown and siblings, Lenn Boren, Eldwin Boren, Neldon Boren, Gordon Boren, and Naoma Boren, all of Utah.

A funeral service will be held Monday, December 6, 2021 at 10 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Amity building, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the funeral services at the Eagar Cemetery.
