Gary Lester Platt

Gary Lester Platt, 90, passed away, Thursday, July 13, 2023 in Tucson. He was born March 27, 1933 in St. Johns, Arizona. Born and raised in St. Johns, he raised his family in Tucson.

He is survived by his daughter, Lori Clarine, sons, Lenny (Leslie), Shawn (Leticia), brothers, Rodney (Nedra), Randy (Laurie), Lester (Carla), 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Gary was a cowboy, pilot, builder and educator who returned to finish his teaching career in St. Johns. He worked at the airport after retirement in this town he loved. 

He reunites again with his wife, Glenda, son, Chad, brother, Jeff, sister, Julie and parents, Josephine Patterson Platt and William Lester Platt, by the blessed promise of our living Savior. 

A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, St. Johns Stake Center.
