Fred Charles Hill

Fred Charles Hill, 83, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 at his home in Springerville. He was born May 4, 1935 in McNary, the son of Abran Madrid Hill and Lorenza Najar Hill.

Fred loved music and Springerville. He also loved the mountains and was a logger for Reidhead Logging. He never met a stranger. His best friends were Sonny Tisdell and Wayne Reidhead. Fred was a wonderful musician and loved playing and played for some big bands such as Buck Owens, Roy Clark, Jennifer O’Neal, Connie Smith, Marty Stewart and Merle Haggard. Fred was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice Compassus 1789 W Commerce Dr. Lakeside, AZ 85929.

He is survived by his daughters, Sara (Sean) Jeffery, Lorena Hill, Veronica (James) Rogers, sister, Lucy Hill, 17 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchild.

Fred was preceded in death by his grandparents and parents, sons, Greg Hill and Robert Hill, brothers, Greg, Lorenzo and Mervin, sisters, Ida and Nita, grandchild, Lee Baca and great granddaughter, Jade. Fred was a devoted father and grandfather and will be missed by all.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 6, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. at Burnham Mortuary, Eagar.
