Ellis Jay Bloomfield

Ellis Jay Bloomfield completed his earthly life, Friday, June 30, 2023, surrounded by those he loved the most; his wife and children. Ellis was born April 13, 1958 in Gallup, New Mexico to Melvin Rudy and Sara Louise Haws Bloomfield.

Ellis dedicated his life to serving those around him in his family and community. He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Florida, then came home and met his love, Carol. They have spent the last 43 years together.

Ellis was fearless and enjoyed pushing the limits. He loved his ranch and getting firewood most. He was a skilled electrician and mechanic and loved woodworking. If he didn’t know how to do something, he would figure it out his way. Ellis never stopped working and always had more than a few projects in progress.

Ellis touched so many lives, but the ones who mattered most were his children and grandchildren.

Ellis leaves behind his love, Carol, daughters, Vickie (Vaikingi “King”) Folau, Melissa Bloomfield, sons, Michael (Trista) Bloomfield, Heath (Selina) Bloomfield, 13 grandchildren who he adored, Carolisa, Lane, Kaelyn, Coleton, Rudy, Zerin, Anika, Asi, Cash, Sara, Milo, Hope, Elsie, siblings, Sue (Charley) Castillo, Russell (Marcia) Bloomfield, Rachel (Randy) Elliott, Richard (Robin) Bloomfield, Curtis (Wendy) Bloomfield, Charley (Melanie) Bloomfield, Atella (Mark) Scott, Carl (Kristen) Bloomfield, Jim (Chauntelle) Bloomfield and Leonard (Diedre) Chavez.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Eagar Stake Center, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow the services at the Eagar Cemetery.
