Duane Gerald Jones, 86, born May 3, 1932 in Crawford, Nebraska, passed away at his residence in St. Johns, Saturday, June 23, 2018. He is survived by his spouse of almost 14 years, Kathleen Jones, St. Johns; his four children, Dean Jones, Terrebonne, Oregon; Lorna Murray, Mesa; Anita McCarty, Vancouver, Washington; Donna (Rick) Lewis, Vancouver, Washington; step-children, Kevin (Kim) Ferguson, Erie Colorado; Kathy (Steve) Heglin, Santa Rosa, California; Maureen (Mark) Carlstadt, Redwood Valley, California; siblings, Patsy (Lavon) Long, Sagle, Idaho; Babe Heidenrich, Cocolalla, Idaho; Kathy (Ed) Meyer, Cocolalla, Idaho; Allen (Arlyn) Jones, Marysville, Washington; Loren (Nona) Jones, Athol, Idaho; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Cassal. Duane was an Army veteran who served in Germany during the 1950’s. In his working years he was a heavy equipment operator, did landscaping and was also a talented cabinetmaker with what he designed and built. Duane also loved to travel as a snowbird throughout his life and while doing this he loved to dance, loved to BBQ and cook, enjoy the many music jam sessions he attended for the music he so loved to listen to, ATV ride in his group of ATVers on the Sonoran Desert and in general loved people and was always there with a helping hand to all who needed it. He will truly be missed by his family who loved him and his many snowbird friends that he met in his years of traveling on the road and camping with them. “Duane you will be missed greatly.
