Donald Eugene Evans, Sr., 69, passed away, Thursday, August 7, 2025 at his home in Springerville, Arizona. He was born August 24, 1955 in Elyria, Ohio, the son of Gary Eugene Evans and Esther Louise Hardy.
Donald had many jobs from being a mortuary assistant, gas station attendant at Lloyd’s in Holbrook, Arizona Highway Patrol for a short time, Contel Phone Company in Holbrook, DOC in Winslow for a short time and then to the INS. Also, Arizona Rangers, Border Patrol and finally retiring in 2015 from the Federal Air Marshals.
He had various hobbies such as hunting, fishing, camping, dune bugging, aviating planes and gold prospecting. He loved playing Elvis songs on his guitar and had a huge John Wayne collection. He loved spending time with his family.
Donald is survived by his wife, Adeline Sanchez-Evans, Springerville; son, Donald Eugene Evans, Jr., Springerville; daughter, Shauna Rae Taylor, Indian Wells; sister, Lonnie (Greg) Holifield and grandson, Nicolas Cruz Taylor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Gary Daniel Evans and Michael Wayne Evans.
A viewing will be held Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at Burnham Mortuary, Eagar. A graveside service will be held Friday, August 15, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at the Holbrook Cemetery.
