Delbert Gene Brown

January 6, 1956 — June 24, 2023

Delbert Gene Brown, 67, passed away, Saturday, June 24, 2023 in St. Johns, Arizona. He was born January 6, 1956 in Orange, California, the son of Lacy Brown and Mildred Jeroline Bailey.

Delbert enjoyed figuring out how to do things and how things worked; from putting a huge machine into a small container to how to haul a house and move airplanes on city roads. He figured out problems with hauling and problems with motorcycles (especially dirt bikes) like no one else. He loved the challenges.

He loved motorcycles and he loved his family. This past year he took guitar lessons and wanted to learn how to play Taps on the bugle for service people. He did all of this and more being mainly deaf with minimal hearing.

Delbert was loving, caring and gentle and would help anyone with anything, but he would also call bull**** if someone was off the wall. He was a master negotiator (he should’ve held classes) and when he taught you safety with trucks, you better have done it!

He was loved so very much, touched so many lives and he will be missed so very greatly. One of the good guys has left us. We love you Del!

Delbert is survived by his wife, Debra L. Mendlowitz Emerick Brown, Avondale; sons, Robert (Crissanne) Brown, Surprise; Jeff Brown, Prescott; daughters, Jill (Scott) Murray, Prescott; Jennifer (Uriah) Christensen, Yuma; step-children, Bethany (Michael) Maskowitz, Naples, Florida; Erin (Dean Loughner) Emerick, Greensburg, Pennsylvania; brothers, James (Linda) Brown, Reno, Nevada; Gary Brown, St. Johns; Ron Brown, Cottonwood; Don Brown, Nevada; David Brown, Waco, Texas; Michael Brown, Cottonwood; Dale Brown, Phoenix; sister, Marilyn (Vic) Ornelas, Litchfield Park; 7 grandchildren, second mom, Kathy Siwek, California, second dad, Robert Bingham, California; sister, Cindy (Joe) Gonzalez, California; brothers, Curtis (Valerie) Bingham, California; Christopher (Tina) Bingham, California; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Pam Brown.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at 12360 W Yuma St. Avondale, Arizona 85232.
