Daniel Eugene Estes

Daniel Eugene Estes passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at age 83. He was born March 29, 1942 in Morenci, Arizona, the son of Effie Cleveland and John Elzy Estes.

Dan was a big-hearted, hard-working man who loved his family, all things mechanical and his mountain home. He was a certified diesel mechanic and the sound of a well running engine was music to his soul. He worked most of his life in the logwoods either hauling with his own truck or operating a loader or other heavy equipment.

Dan is survived by his daughters, LaNette Estes, Jennifer (Tony) Walker, Monik (Jon) Conway, Marva Adams, brother, Michael (Iris) Estes, sisters, Wendy (Leland) Crowther, Tamara (Arthur) Quetel, 10 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Corwin Elzy Estes, Lonnie Carl Estes, sister, Bette Ruth McCall, granddaughter, Emily Craig and great-grandchildren, Caiden and Caitlynn Folks.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Alpine Cemetery.
