Cora Mary Lee

Cora Mary Lee, 88, passed away, Sunday, January 11, 2026 at her home in Springerville, Arizona. She was born December 9, 1937 in El Rito, New Mexico, the daughter of Frank Gonzales and Clarita Ortiz.

Cora was very well known in the community of Round Valley; between her years working as a school bus driver and her many years spent after retirement as janitor of Springerville City Hall and Police Department.

She and her husband, Henry were very active members of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She was known as Grandma Lee or Little Grandma to many of her grandchildren. She was the rock of her family and will be greatly missed.

Cora is survived by her son, Henry Lee, Jr., Lakeside; daughter, Clara Baca, Springerville; step-daughter, Amber Lee Watson, sisters, Benny (Ponciano) Madrid, Frances (George) Archuleta, Geri Gonzales, 7 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee, Sr., daughter, Dora Jean Lee, brother, Abe Gonzales and granddaughters, D.J. Rose Lee, Deanna Lee and Lillianna Lee.

Rosary will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, followed by a memorial Mass. A graveside service will follow the services at Springerville Cemetery. A luncheon will be served following the graveside service at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
