Clinton Emery Bigelow

December 23, 1938 — October 9, 2022

Clinton Emery Bigelow, 83, bear wrestler and great storyteller, passed away, Sunday, October 9, 2022. He was born December 23, 1938 in Eagar, Arizona to Joseph Almon and Dorthella May Dillard Bigelow. He was the 9th of 11 children.

Clinton was an active, lifetime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served a mission in Anaheim, California. He loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and bore testimony often of its truthfulness. He was an avid reader of history and especially loved church history.

As a young man he worked for the Forest Service. He spent many hours in "Look Out” towers and riding horses all over the White Mountains. He seemed to know every nook and cranny of the forest and had an accompanying story to go with it. He loved the outdoors, riding horses, hunting, fishing, camping, hiking and riding ATV’s with his pug in a milk crate; strapped to the front.

Clinton loved his family. He had a vivid memory and he enjoyed telling stories of days gone by.  He and his wife, Yvonne Norton had 6 children. He told amazing bedtime stories and sang songs we will never forget. His sweetheart, Yvonne preceded him in death almost sixteen years ago. We are truly grateful to know they are reunited.  His testimony of “The Great Plan of Happiness” will be remembered forever by his descendants.

His survivors include his children, LaDee Bigelow, Eagar; Kerri (Jeffrey) Wilcock, Gilbert; Rachel (W. Bart) Wiltbank, Eagar; Russell (Amie) Bigelow, Manti, Utah; Leah (Rod) Genck, Show Low; Sherod (Tiah) Bigelow, Gilbert; brother, Joe Lamar Bigelow, Eagar; sister, Loydene Roylance, Midway, Utah; 28 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Mary, Joseph, Lloyd, Valeria, Milford, Clifford, Dot, Clarence, sweetheart, Yvonne Bigelow and grandson, Shane Nelson.

A viewing will be held Friday, October 14, 2022 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Burnham Mortuary, Eagar. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Amity Ward Building, School Bus Rd, Eagar, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the services at the Eagar Cemetery.
