Clara A. Archuleta, 89, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025 at her home in Springerville, Arizona. She was born November 23, 1936 in Red Hill, New Mexico, the daughter of Anecito Baca Archuleta and Petrita Serna Aragon.
Clara worked as a cook for 40 plus years. She also worked as a custodian for 22 years for Justices of the Peace and many other side jobs. She loved to garden; her garden was huge and she grew many crops, putting it away and gave much to family and friends.
Clara was a rancher. She fed cattle and broke the ice in the big tank. She would honk the horn on the truck so the cattle would come off the mountain to be fed. She also had chickens, ducks pigs and sheep.
Clara is survived by her brothers, Pete Archuleta, Veneta, Oregon; Gilbert Archuleta, Flagstaff; sisters, Christine Cochran, Flagstaff; and Maria Archuleta, Springerville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
A viewing will be held Friday, December 5, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Springerville, followed by Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the services at the Springerville Cemetery.
