Claire Celeste Hicks

Claire Celeste Hicks, 60, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 22, 2026 in Mesa, Arizona. She was born April 5, 1966 and lived a life marked by kindness, devotion and quiet strength.

Claire graduated from St. Johns High School and moved to Utah where she began working for Novell. A few years later she returned to Arizona and began her long career in the transportation industry.

Claire will be remembered for her warm heart and her steady presence. She had a gift for making others feel welcome and valued and her compassion left a lasting impression on family and friends and all who knew her. She also possessed a witty sense of humor and a keen mind. Claire loved reading, singing, going to the movies, playing the piano, Sees chocolates and knitting. Mostly, Claire loved talking and visiting with her family and friends and making deep and lasting connections.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carol Anderson Hicks and James Reed Hicks.

She is survived by her sister, Leslie (Les) Craith, brother, Ransom Hicks and numerous cousins.

A graveside service will be held Friday, May 1, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Johns Westside Cemetery.
