Annie Benta

Annie Benta passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in Payson. She was born in Springerville, November 29, 1930 to Lorenzo and Christina Jaramillo Hill. 

Annie was a lifelong resident of Springerville and had numerous family and friends in the community. Springerville was truly her home. She loved her children and grandchildren equally and was always there for them. 

Although, not a gambler she liked to go to Hon-Dah Casino and always looked forward to going to Laughlin, Nevada with her daughter, Christina on the annual senior citizens trip. This was a trip that she was reflecting on shortly before her passing. She liked to sew and made many blankets and quilts that will be in the family for generations. 

She is survived by her sons, Manuel Benta, Jr., Jesse Benta, Norman Benta, daughters, Ramona Benta, Sylvia Benta, Gloria Benta, Dorothy (Charles) Lovell, Frances Benta, grandchildren, Amanda Jaggers, Amber Lovell, Richie Lopez Jr., Mariah Castro, Sheri Lopez, Krystal Benta, Malakai Benta, Shannon Benta, many beloved great grandchildren and brothers, Gilbert (Libby) Hill and Anselmo (Della) Archuletta.

Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Lorenzo and Christina Hill, husband, Manuel Benta, Sr., daughter, Christina Benta, sisters, Dora Serna, Violet Stowell, brothers, Jeffrey Hill and George Hill. 

A viewing will be held Friday, June 11, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Springerville, followed by Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow the services at the Springerville Cemetery, Springerville.
