Ann Higley, 79 of St. Johns passed away at her home, Tuesday, March 15, 2022, with her family by her side. She was born August 6, 1942 in Ogden, Utah the daughter of Henry and Fern Violet England Higley. She had 8 brothers and sisters, Henry Higley, Jr., DeRoy C. Higley, LaNeta Higley Quinlan, Beth Higley Pearce, Jay LaVell Higley, Douglas Harold Higley, Myrna Higley Hadlock and Marilyn Higley Horner.
Ann moved to Sandpoint, Idaho in 1952 from Utah and then to Mesa, Arizona in 1965 with her family. She worked for the Sandpoint Hospital as a janitor and for Falcon Field as a janitor and then went to work as a cook for Mesa Lutheran Hospital for over 25 years. After moving to Snowflake, Arizona she worked as a cook for KFC in Holbrook and in Show Low then went to work as a door greeter for Wal-Mart in Show Low. She then moved to St. Johns, Arizona in 2009 to help her niece take care of her father until his passing later that year.
Ann was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a visiting teacher for several years. She loved reading and taking care of her plants, being with her family and loved fishing with her dad at Bear Lake in Utah.
Ann is survived by her brother, Douglas (Darlene) Higley, Georgia; sisters, Myrna (Gary) Hadlock, Peoria; and Marilyn (Roger) Horner, Kingman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Henry Higley Jr., DeRoy C. Higley, Jay LaVell Higley and her sisters, LaNeta Higley Quinlan, Beth Higley Pearce and several young nephews and nieces.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 48 N Main St., Snowflake, with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow the services at the R.V. Mike Ramsay Memorial Park, Snowflake.
Ann had requested that in lieu of flowers she would like donations made to The Cure Starts Now in the name of Aaliyah Jensen for the cure of DIPG brain cancer affecting so many young children.
