Maude Chavez

Maude Chavez, 82, passed away April 16, 2017 at her residence in St. Johns. She was born June 13, 1934 in St Johns the daughter of Concepcion Gallegos and Emilo Garcia.Maude worked as a telephone operator. She was a firm believer in her guardian angel who opened and closed doors for her. She had a perfect childhood and loved reading, sewing and Christmas gatherings with family. Maude also wanted her family to remember her for, “just being myself at all times, loving you all so very much, but also living for myself.” Maude is survived by her children, Ronald E. (Rosie) Chavez, St. Johns; Wilfred (Susan) Chavez, Imperial, California; O’Frida (Rick) Scott, San Diego, California; Audrey Salazar, St. Johns; Victoria (John) Williams, Topeka, Kansas; 13 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Wilfred Chavez, Sr. and daughter, Bonita Chavez. A Rosary will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. Johns, with a Funeral Mass following at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow the Funeral Mass at the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery.
