Raymond Lee "Rey" Nez

Raymond Lee “Rey” Nez, 57, passed away Friday, September 2, 2016 in Mesa. He was born September 24, 1958 in Cortez, Colorado, the son of Dan Nez, Sr. and Elouise Bylilly. “Rey” was a certified pipefitter for Union Local #412, retiring in 2016. He was an accomplished artist and recognized for volunteering with the little league for 28 years. “Rey” is survived by his wife, Carol Nez; daughters, Tiata Nez, Eagar; Keosha Nez, Avondale; mother, Elouise Nakai; brothers, Alfred Saltwater, Cleveland Nez, Dan Nez, Jr., Frank Nakai, Sr., Tommy Nakai, Jr., sisters, Caroline Nez, Sarah Nez, Eleanora Yazzie, Eleanor (Nakai) Jewelryman, Elarina Nakai and Elvira Nakai. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Tommy Nakai, Sr. and brother, Robert Nez. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 10, 2016 at 12:00 noon at the Community Presbyterian Church, Springerville, with visitation from 10:00-11:45 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral services at the Eagar Cemetery.
