Betty Jo Wilkins

Betty Jo Wilkins, 88, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 in St. Johns. She was born May 19, 1928 in Springerville, the daughter of Reginald Leo and Vera Rae Mangum Sharp. Betty loved her family, church and rodeos, especially bull riding. She owned several businesses including the Dairy Crème, a dress shop and a flower shop, retiring in 2005. Betty was very proud of being raised in Nutrioso and living in the White Mountains all of her life. She is survived by her son, Reginald (Louise) Wilkins, Eagar; grandchildren, Lane (Tammi Jo) Wilkins, Nutrioso; Jenny (Warren) Jones, Salt Lake City, Utah; great grandson, Luke Wilkins, Eagar; sister, Cleo Green, Delta Junction, Alaska; and several nieces and nephews who live in Alaska. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Merwin Wilkins, sister, Vera Mae Eagar, and grandson, Luke Wilkins. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Nutrioso Community Center, Nutrioso. Intement will follow the funeral services at the Nutrioso Cemetery.
