Ailean Waite Cowley

Ailean Waite Cowley, 87, a life-long resident of St. Johns, died Saturday, March 26, 2016 at her home. She was born December 30, 1928 in St. Johns the daughter of William Emmett and Albertha Agnes Waite. Ailean was a wonderful mother and homemaker who was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She also made beautiful wedding cakes and quilts, and was an excellent seamstress. She passed her artistic talents on to her two daughters. Ailean spent her life caring for others, and would often go out of her way to reach those who were in need. Ailean is survived by her loving husband of 68 years Gordon H. Cowley, and two daughters, Linda Gifford and Toni L. Nelson and granddaughter, Mandy Gifford. The family gives all who cared for Ailean their greatest gratitude.
